For my 1 - 2 minute action sequence i plan to film my footage at an old abandoned bunker in Edinburgh, the bunker itself is built near a quarry and was built back in 1952 as a fall out shelter for the government during a nuclear threat. The bunker has been abandoned for years and a couple of years ago was set on fire. The inside of the bunker is heavily damaged and apparently full os asbestos so theres no chance ill be going in there. However i plan to film all of my action scenes outside. The bunkers ground are nice and open will plenty of space to run about between buildings. Over the years the bunker has been a magnet for graffiti artists and is covered in the stuff, so this will give me some interesting background art for my shots. I Plan to film a couple of friends running around firing shots at one another from fake guns, with background smoke and grenade blasts. I also plan to include a couple of 3d meshes in the background of several shots, using matchmaking to accurately track there camera movements to the live plates.javascript:void(0)
I have spoken to both my technical and general supervisors for the year, who are Robin and Gordon, and both are onboard with me on my project. Before we broke up for the xmas holiday i spoke with gordon about the problems with matching moving and renders particles etc in maya, and discussed possible software programs for me to look into. Im am going to look into getting SynthEyes and Cinema4D. Gordon also talked about the possible problems i could face and discussed general helpful tips i should take into consideration.
I have looked into several online tutorias demonstrating how to achieve certain VFX such as gun recoils and muzzle flash's aslong with how to create fake blood splatters for gun shot wounds.
