Fire Test

After experimenting with my green/black scree yesterday, I had an idea of creating my own fire effects, possibly to use with my muzzle fire or my explosions.

So I went about making my own fire effects, I used a combination of deodorant and a disposable lighter. Spraying the deodorant onto an open flame gives a very nice fire ball effect.

I filmed several different shots and went over to Aftereffects to see what I could pull of. I managed to screen out my background and clip down my flames to a few seconds. I then composited this flame effect onto my scene of my Soldier firing his MP5. I was hoping to create a nice flame/muzzle fire effect for my gun fire. But in the end I came up with a shot that i wasent very happy with. I have posted a screenshot below and plan to continue to work on my muzzle fire effects.
