18/3/2011 Meeting with supervisor

I met with Robin today to discuss my progress.

I was eager to discuss my dissertation work as I have slightly altered my dissertation question as mentioned before. Robin was happy with my alteration saying it worked more appropriately with my research area.

We also discussed further locations to source research information from, one such site that Robin mentioned was the ACM SIGMIS Databas, found at;

While talking to Robin I found a useful article on the site regarding smoke and explosion creation. I downloaded the article and will read over it later today.

After talking about my dissertation we moved onto to discuss my learning contracts that i submitted to Robin a few days ago over email. Robin explained how he thought it would be more appropriate to group some of my main objectives under the same banner so to speak. Initially I began with 6 separate objectives with sub activities. After discussing with Robin how to regroup them we came to the conclusion to have 3 main objectives for my over personal project, grouping the sub activities accordingly.
