The first of these is to look a bit more into creating my own camera stabilization rig, I have briefly watched a few videos on this topic in the last few days, but I have not fully planned the construction of my own rig. I plan to take various components from different rigs ideas and compile them into my own. Below is a fe screen shots of different peoples concepts I plan to use as reference;

I have also been working on simple explosions in Maya, I recently purchased a handy wee book; Maya Studio Projects: Dynamics by Todd Palmar. This is a very good quality book, which takes you through different particle/ fluid effects that can be created in Maya to mimic real life, for example; fires, smoke, explosions etc.
So after playing around a bit i managed to make my own explosion in Maya and render out some screen shots, i dont feel this would be suitable for my final composition but it has allowed me to understand how to use fluids and how they work within Maya. I would also like to experiment with different larger explosions maybe tweaking a few of the original settings and see what i get, but as for now take a look at some of the screenshots;
